Great results for the 25 strong Buckley squad at the two day North Wales Sub Regional Championships in Llandudno on 5th and 6th December. Buckley swimmers won a total of 18 individual medals and added a further two relay gold medals to the tally.
Rachel Evans (13 year old 100m backstroke) and Jamie Chan (12 year old 100m breaststroke) both took gold medals in individual events whilst the boys 13 years and under relay team of Bradly Chan, Adam Sarveswaran, Louis Corrigan and Arthur Peters and girls open relay team of Molly Lloyd, Pavlina Zigova, Kate Swarbrick and Rachel Evans both took home gold medals.
The other individual medalists were Bradly Chan, Louis Corrigan, Ethan Ellis-Sixsmith, Arthur Peters, Sam Powell and Kate Swarbrick withj 8 silver and bronze medals shared between them. There were many personal bests achieved by the squad as a whole, well done everyone.
Other events in Llandudno saw the roof on nearby shops damaged by the high winds on Saturday whilst on Sunday there was drama in the pool when a swimmer (not from Buckley) had to be rescued from the pool during the boys 200m fly event. Reports are that the swimmer was well after receiving attention.
